Quat — Support

Quat turns things you capture — a recording, a photo of a page, a link — into flashcards that test you.

Common questions

Where is my data? On your device. Quat has no accounts and no server that stores your content. Deleting the app deletes everything, and there is no backup we can restore from — export your deck if it matters to you.

Why does a capture need a connection? Recordings, photos and links are read by an AI model, which runs remotely. Everything else — reviewing, exams, games, writing notes, searching — works offline.

What do the four buttons mean during review? Each one prints what pressing it will do before you press it: now, 12h, 1d, 4d. That is when the card comes back. There is nothing to guess.

Why did my session end? Because the cards scheduled for today are done. Quat does not invent more work to keep you in the app. New cards become due as their intervals come round.

What does MIC · JUL 26 · HEART FAILUR mean under a card? Where the card came from — the capture method, the date, and the note. It is there so that weeks later, when a card surfaces and you cannot place it, you can find the lecture or page it came from.

A transcript came back cut off. Recordings up to about 40 minutes work. Past that the app refuses in about a second and tells you so, rather than returning a truncated transcript.

Why can Quat not read a YouTube link? Caption tracks require a signed session that the app does not have. Rather than guess at the content from the title, Quat refuses the link and says why.

Subscriptions

Reviewing, exams, games, and everything you have already captured are unlimited on every tier, forever. A subscription raises how much new material you can capture each month.

Manage or cancel a subscription in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device. Cancelling stops the renewal; you keep what you paid for until the period ends.
