Delete your account
This page is what Apple and Google both require: a way to request deletion of your Gigcall account and data that does not depend on still having the app installed, plus a plain description of what deleting an account actually does.
Option 1: delete it in the app
This is the fastest way, and it takes effect immediately:
- Open Gigcall and sign in.
- Tap your account icon (top right of most screens) to open the account menu.
- Tap "Delete account."
- Read the four things listed on that screen (repeated below), then confirm.
If you own a tour — or an organisation (the Org plan's shared roster and contact book across your tours) — that other people are still active on, the app will tell you and ask you to deal with it first: transfer the tour or remove its other members, or remove the organisation's other members or delete the organisation outright. This protects their day sheets, or the organisation's roster, from being deleted out from under them. Once there's nothing in the way, deletion completes right away.
Option 2: request it by email
If you no longer have the app installed, or can't sign in, write to gigcall01@gmail.com from the email address on the account (or tell us what it is) and ask us to delete your account. We'll verify the request and confirm once it's done. This does the same thing as the in-app flow above.
Exactly what happens when your account is deleted
This is what the app itself tells you before you confirm, and it is accurate to what the deletion actually does on our servers:
- Your sign-in stops working, on every device, and this cannot be undone. The account itself is deleted — there is no 30-day recovery window for the account as a whole (that window exists for individual deleted items and deleted tours; see below).
- You leave every tour, and any organisation you belong to. Your name comes off every tour roster you were on, and off any organisation's roster too. A tour or an organisation only you own is deleted along with your account — a tour's day sheets, schedule, advance notes, contacts and files included; an organisation's roster and contact book the same way. One that other people are still active on has to be dealt with first (see Option 1 above) — deleting your account never deletes a tour or an organisation still in use by other people, only the ones that were yours alone. Any guest-list request you made on a tour you don't own is removed too; the tour itself, and anyone else's request on it, is unaffected.
- Any files you attached to a tour that gets deleted are removed from storage as part of the same request.
- Your push notification token is deleted — it was already deactivated the moment you last signed out on that device, and deleting the account removes the record itself, on every device you had registered. Your notification preferences and subscription-status record are deleted too, and so is any referral or reward record on your side as the referrer, and any unread overwritten-change notice addressed to you — see "What's kept, and for how long" below for the one part of that which is not quite so simple.
- Your subscription is not cancelled by this. The App Store or Google Play — not Gigcall — owns that billing relationship, and only they can stop a subscription from renewing. Cancel it there first (see Terms, "Subscriptions"), or it keeps charging even though the account it was attached to is gone.
- Anything not yet synced is lost. Deleting the account signs every device out, which clears its local copy of your tours; an edit made offline that had not yet reached our servers does not get a second chance to sync afterward. If that matters to you, use "Export my data" (account menu) before deleting, or make sure your devices have synced first.
What's kept, and for how long
Deleting your account is immediate, as described above — it is not held in a 30-day window. A related but different feature is worth knowing about too, because it explains language you may see elsewhere in the app ("Recently deleted"):
- Deleting a single item — one schedule item, one contact, one file, or a whole tour deleted deliberately while your account stays open — is recoverable for 30 days. It appears in that tour's "Recently deleted" screen (or, for a whole tour, "Recently deleted tours" in the account menu) with a Restore option, and is then permanently removed by an automated nightly job. This 30-day window is about individual content, not about your account.
- Tour content you don't own (a tour someone else runs that you were a member of) is not affected by your account deletion beyond your own name coming off its roster — the tour and its content belong to the people still on it, the same as removing yourself from a shared document doesn't delete the document.
- Edit history — the before-and-after copy behind a tour's History screen — is kept 90 days from when the edit was made, whether or not you still have an account by then; deleting your account clears your name as its author but not the edit itself, so a tour you left does not lose its record of what happened while you were on it. A notice that your own edit was overwritten by somebody else's more recent one is kept 30 days, and goes with the rest of your account data if you delete before then.
- A reward someone else earned by referring you stays on their record after you delete your account — it is their record of what they were owed, not yours — though it stops naming you specifically.
- Purchase and subscription records are kept by Apple, Google and RevenueCat as billing and tax law requires, independently of your Gigcall account; deleting the account does not delete those records or cancel a subscription (see above).
- Crash and diagnostic events already sent to Sentry follow its own retention — up to 90 days — independent of your account.
- An invite code you created keeps working for whoever already has it; deleting your account only clears the record of who created it.
- Backups kept by our infrastructure providers follow their own standard disaster-recovery schedules, independent of the windows above; see our privacy policy.
